Last week, amid all the other televised awards shows, the first official Oscar telecast promos premiered starring host and potential awards season ruiner Seth McFarlane.
Basically this series of very, very short promos gives the viewer a glimpse into the kind of show we can expect to complain about in just over a month.
McFarlane complains about not being able to drink on tv! There is a tuxedo! Old people and young people don’t understand!
Daniel Day Lewis or something! No jokes are told! Nothing is funny! Nothing is cool! The end.
It might seem difficult to imagine that in 40 seconds or less a man could be so irritating, but it’s true. And in just over two minutes you view all five videos.
Now multiply your feelings of annoyance by 90 and that’s how much longer you’ll have to endure that smug, mugging moron.
Here you are, everyone who cares about this stuff:
Proof that this “young,” “edgy,” “unpredictable” guy who’s supposed to breathe life into the stuffy, old awards codger is going to pull the exact same punches as every other host.
