Huge Disappointment After Alleged $42 Million Jackpot Win

Mostly the big news in online and live casinos is all about big jackpots, smiling faces and new found riches. How different was this for Thornton resident Ms. Chavez, as her short lasting joy turned to downright disgust when she found out her alleged $42 million win was based on absolutely nothing.
Grand Progressive Jackpot
Louise Chavez was spinning the reels of a penny slot machine in the Fortune Valley Hotel and Casino in Colorado. After a short period of wagering the magic machine displayed a message saying the woman had won the national grand progressive jackpot of no less than $42 million!
False Message on Slot
Ms. Chavez shed tears of pure joy but minutes later the casino staff brought her the terrible news. The machine had displayed a false message as the biggest available jackpot that could be awarded was only $250,000.
The Fortune Valley Casino decljared in a statement that Ms. Chavez was compensated for the faulty message with a $23 wager refund, and a free overnight stay with breakfast. An utterly meager consolation considering the seriousness of the error and the huge deception that followed.
Colorado Gambling Board
Next to the small compensation the casino declared that it would start an investigation to find out the cause of the erroneous slot machine message. Furthermore the matter is picked up by the Colorado state gambling board to find out if it was the casino, or Ms. Chavez who was at fault.
TV Attention
The situation drew the attention of several television news shows and talk shows throughout the country. Ms. Chavez has not yet mentioned if she will sue the casino in order to reclaim her winnings, but in comparable cases casino visitors have received settlements in order to prevent bad publicity.
