Your favorite blue Na'vi may be coming to a casino near you very soon.

It took about two years of development time but slot machines based on "Avatar" made their debut at the G2E gambling expo running in Las Vegas this week. The interactive slots are a result of a partnership of International Game Technology and Twentieth Century Fox.

The slots feature huge sceens and offer the chance for up to five people to play simultaneously, with film footage and characters from the movie woven into the game play; it will also be offered in smaller two-seater versions.

The 70-inch and 103-inch models of the Avatar video slots machine will hit casino floors at the end of October or early November, with a mix of touchscreen controls as well as traditional buttons to mash on the slot machine cabinet. Special community bonus rounds can be triggered that give all players a chance to win bonus jackpots in addition to scoring big on their own screens.

A smaller 42-inch single player version is also on the drawing board but it won't debut until sometimes in 2014.

Crossover slots games based on television shows and movies have proven very popular in the past, with Wheel of Fortune, Star Trek, and Star Wars just a few of the themed slot machines that you'll see in use in casinos in Vegas and throughout the U.S.

The Walking Dead is another popular series to make the leap to slots, with several comic book franchies such as The Avengers and others characters featured in popular online slots games at various online casinos.
