South Korean rapper Psy has just struck a blow for everyone around the world not infected with Bieber fever.
Psy's mega-hit video "Gangnam Style" has become the most-watched video in YouTube history, eclipsing the previous top hit which was Justin Bieber's "Baby" video.
"Gangnam Style" broke the record on November 24 when it shot past "Baby" and its 804 million views. As of now "Gangnam Style" is at nearly 830 million views, tacking on 7-10 million new views each day on average.
Psy is just about the most unlikely singer imaginable to take down the Biebs, as the 34 year-old rapper came out of nowehere with "Gangnam Style".
Its catchy grooves and signature horse dance/prance from Psy has captivated the world since it was released on July 15, 2012.
The video has helped Psy -- whose real name is Park Jae-Sang -- sell more than 4 million copies around the globe and has been the breakthough hit that other K-pop stars have been chasing for years.
"Gangnam Style" is not only racking up views at an amazing rate but also has become the most-liked video in YouTube history as well; "Baby" has the dubious honor of making both the top five most-liked videos on YouTube as well as the top five most-dislike videos.
Bieber had been the top YouTube dog for over two years when "Baby" overtook Lady Gaga's "Bad Romance" as the most watched video.
No word from the Biebs on his reaction to losing the top slot but there are rumors that he and Psy may collaborate on an upcoming song.
Getting the two together might be easier than you think, as they both share the same manager in Scooter Braun after Psy signed a deal with Braun back in September to represent him.
