Fertitta Interactive Buys CyberArts

Fertitta Interactive has announced that it has bought online gambling software provider CyberArts for an undisclosed amount, marking its foray into the world of online gambling.

Fertitta Interactive (which owns 45% of Stations Casino, one of the larger US casino groups) has announced that it has acquired online gaming software provider CyberArts for an undisclosed amount.

Brothers Frank Fertitta III and Lorenzo Fertitta and former Golden Nugget owners Tom Breitling and Tim Poster are the main executives behind Fertitta.

"One of the key things for us was finding best-of-breed software, with an emphasis on internet poker, which has been market tested. CyberArts also brings a lot more to the table than that, such as an incredible platform to build upon," Tom Breitling said in a recent interview.

Several different US casinos have been in talks with online sites about potential partnerships if US laws change to allow for legal and regulated online casino and poker sites.

CyberArts is a relatively small player in the online world -- its software currently powers PurePlay, a subscription based US poker site -- but it doesn't come with the baggage that other software providers do that may have in the past served US clients despite anti-gambling laws in the US.

Fertitta Interactive had previously signed a partnership with Full Tilt to work together on an online site but the deal was quickly canceled after Full Tilt and PokerStars were indicted by the US government and had funds and their domains seized.
