Chris Brown Punches Dudes, Too

Author: Seth Shafer

Chris Brown is once again making headlines for relying on his fists, this time accused of assaulting singer Frank Ocean.

Brown's fondness of settling arguments with his fists came to light in 2009 when he pled guilty to felony assault of Rihanna, his girlfriend at the time. Brown avoided jail time and skated off with five years probation and mandatory domestic violence counseling.

Brown apologized publicly in various ways and his career barely took a hit; by 2013 he and Rihanna were back together as well, with Rihanna swearing that he's a changed man and that she'd immediately walk away if he showed even a hint of his past violent behavior.

Apparently it's okay if that violent behavior is directed at others, though, as brown has been involved in a series of violent episodes over the last few years. In mid-2012 he was implicated in a club brawl with Drake's posse; both sides claim the other started a fight that involved thrown bottles and glasses, with NBA star Tony Parket caught in the crossfire and requiring surgery to remove glass from his eye.

Brown's latest scrap was on January 27 with singer Frank Ocean, who turned up at his recording studio to find Brown's orange Lambo parked in his designated spot. Ocean asked that the car be moved and Brown and two friends emerged from the building, with a brawl quickly breaking out.

Witnesses at the scene claim that Brown threw punches before fleeing ahead of police arriving, with some suggesting that Brown's friend pinned Ocean while Brown punched him. “Got jumped by Chris and a couple guys. Lol,” was how Ocean described the run-in shortly after on Twitter.

No arrests were made and Ocean has declined to press any charges, claiming that he'd rather just turn the page and let bygones be bygones.
